Would I see and better speeds for the internet on my wireless emac with a G rated router? I have a B rated one now. I know the transfers from computers in my own network would be faster but is it going to make a difference for for the internet?

Shouldn't make any difference to your internet connection, unless you have a really really weak signal to your basestation. Standard dial up connection is 56kbit, and a standard half meg broadband is 512kbit (10X faster). a Wireless b connection is 11mbits at top rate - 20X faster than a broadband internet connection - so the internet is always going to be a rate limiting step.

No, just file transfer - B can handle up to 11Mbps and G is 54Mbps. A fast cable line is about 3Mbps. So unless you have a wireless T1 Connection ;), I wouldn't worry about it.
