I have a MBP13 (2009 model) connected to my wireless network with a DLink 2000AP as my wireless server.

Here's the problem:
When I move away from the server... I can see the network, I can join the network... but I cannot PING the network

To fix it... I just come closer, connect to the network, Ping is good, and then move back to where I was before... all sweet, no issues.
This happens everytime I need to reconnect.

Has me totally stumped... does not make sense to me. Can anyone shed some light on this issue?

Just to clarify...

You have the DLink as your home/office wireless router.

You say "when I move away...". Where and or how far is away? These routers do have a limited broadcast radius, also dependent on line-of-sight obstacles.

You say you can "see, join, but not PING" the network. What are you pinging on the network... the router itself or an external web-site/server?

Some more details will help greatly
:)
