My Apple Wireless Keyboard (small aluminium version) has stopped responding to some keys after a cleaning. It appears to affect a bank of keys on the left side of the keyboard.

The affected keys include 2,w,e,a,s, and Caps Lock. Most of the other keys I've checked are working fine, and bluetooth functionality is fine.

I used a clean damp cloth for wiping clean, and mid way through cleaning added a tiny amount of washing up liquid. I'm guessing I must have managed to get a tiny amount of water behind one or more keys. Unfortunately, I stupidly did the cleaning with the batteries in place. Now I'm not sure if some electronic circuit is damaged beyond repair or reset, or if it's just some gunk on a contact.

I've tried drying it out over the past couple of days but without any improvement. I've tried pressing the non-responding keys repeatedly too. I looks as though a particular line or segment of the keyboard electronics is affected.

Does anyone know if the affected keys give a clue as to the source of the problem. If so is there any way to recover from this problem? Or do I just have to bite the bullet and hand over some more money to Apple.

Thanks.
