Wireless keyboard responding bizarrely

Hello

I am a relatively inexperienced Mac user and since yesterday my keyboard has stopped functioning properly. I am unable to use backspace in the conventional sense (it only functions as left-to-right delete button) and arrow keys no longer move along in the text (they are working as pg up/pg down function). It's like the function button is held down - its driving me crazy! I have not spilled anything on the keyboard or installed any new software. I have checked that mouse keys is not enabled. The keyboard is a wireless mini keyboard (i.e. no number pad)

Any help is much appreciated I am sure it is something easy!!

Does your keyboard require batteries? Some keyboards do and perhaps they need replacing.

I have replaced them but to no avail. It really is a nightmare this, I will have to take it into the shop and get them to check it out.
