So I just got a Wireless MM for Christmas, and am just wondering about what to expect for battery life, with fairly heavy use. Also will turning it off when not using it really make a big difference? I'de rather not keep turning it on/off since I use the computer randomly throughout the day.

I don't see anything online, or in the manual about it sleeping.

The manual says "Note: To conserve battery power, turn your mouse off when you are not using it"

I just set it up, so I guess we'll see if it goes to sleep when I don't use it for a while.

The sensor dims and then it starts flashing intermittently when not in use.

It's still a good idea to turn it off when you're not going to use it for a long time.

It uses lasers, there is no sensor to "dim"

Yeah I'll turn it off if Im not going to use it for a day or so, but if Im gonna be on, and off the comp all day Im not gonna be turning it off/on every time.

Note: I haven't used the new Wireless Might Mouse so my experience is with the old one.

It's still going to need a sensor though. You just might not see a light.

There is no light that comes out of the bottom of mine....

I don't turn it off, either, but I've only had it since christmas. We'll see how long the battery lasts!

The battery life is pretty good on them. You can probably use it for a few months before you have to replace them. I ran mine as long as 5 months without turning it off.

Thats good to know, I'd just rather not be bothered to turn it off, if I get 3-5 months out of it I'll be happy. I just didn't want to have to replace the batteries every 2 weeks or something ridiculous like that.

Apple Bluetooth input devices have had rather good battery life in my experience. The keyboards are outstanding.
