Wireless optical wireless drive for iPad

Most X-rays looked at on cd. Same app for MacBook also available to view X-rays on iPad (Osirix). Would like to just use iPad for this but didn't have an easy way to transfer data from a cd. Just noticed that Samsung had a wireless optical drive. I was wondering whether this would do the trick and allow me to download cd to app on iPad using the device and a wireless network? Thanks
