Hello everyone!
I'm new here...
Just got a new MacBook Pro 2.4 Ghz and am new to Mac in general...

I have a lot of PC keyboards / mice and one is a Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer 2.0 and is very precise on all of my PCs but on my Mac it's really awkward and doesn't move at consistent speeds.

Any ideas on this? Is it Mac related or should I get a mouse designed for Mac?

It doesn't matter if it's for Macs or PCs. I suggest you go to system preferences and adjust the mouse speed. Also check the batteries.

should work fine just plug in the USB receiver and it will work instantly… literally!

the thumb buttons may need Microsoft’s IntelliPoint 5.1 to work in OS X.

Mice are mice. They're not designed for Mac or PC. Any mouse will work. However, the drivers may need to be installed to configure the mouse properly, and drivers are dependent on which operating system you have.

Thank you thank you!
I wasn't sure how drivers worked on Macs, I'll go to Microsoft and see if I can find drivers for it.

Also, can I Map the CTRL button on my PC Keyboard to the Command action on the Mac using just Leopard or do I have to download some other software?

That's what drivers are for. I'd be surprised if you find Mac drivers on Microsoft's site, but you never know!

OK, color me surprised! However, I wonder if that page is just out of date, or if it won't work on Mac OS X 10.5.5.
..for Mac OS 10.1 to 10.3.x
This appears to be more current, but I don't know if it's the right one:

I expected to take a couple of days to get a response lol...

Thanks thanks!
