I'm A Michigander
Hello.

I have a Dell Inspiron Notebook running Windows XP.

I also have an iMac running OS 10.4 Tiger

I want to print to the printer connected to my iMac, from my laptop.

I have tried Bonjour for Windows...it finds the Lexmark 1300 series on my iMac, the driver installed fine...but now when I go to print..it says that Printing Failed when Starting the Document.

The printer works on my iMac.
Printer Sharing is configured..
And the iMac is connected to the network..

Can someone please help me..?

Thank you so much.

Ya, this is usually only found in the "small print:"
Windows users must configure an SMB/CIFS network printer (or Bonjour) and use the Postscript printer driver, even if the printer isn't a Postscript printer. Your Mac will translate the Postscript code into code the printer can understand.

So, on Windows, change the driver to generic postscript or one I like - Apple Color Laserwriter xx.

OK..But it only had a selection of Generic so I chose Generic Postscript.
Now I don't get the error message on the XP Laptop...and the print job shows up in the Completed queue list...but it doesnt print..
Can you still help me?

Just want to make sure you're using the correct driver on the Mac, but the postscript driver on the PC?
