Ok...I have a Epson CX8400 connected to my D-link usb ethernet print server which is connected to my D-link wireless router via an ethernet cable. It prints fine using Win XP and Vista, but when I try to print using Leopard it sends numerous blank pages (in the case of a test page) or it sends pages of text that kind of looks like a test page but goes on forever. When printing from NeoOffice or Textedit, it just prints numerous blank pages. Obviously it is talking to the printer, but what is going on? Why no text?

Thanks for any help.

Do you have the right drivers installed. That is usually what happens.

Ok...I did upgrade the driver and it says it includes CUPS, but there is no change in the behavior. I'll keep playing around, it just makes no sense why it won't send the text. Weird!!

Please tell us the print server model and exactly what you are doing to set up to print. One hint - IP > IPP and IP > LPD both require you to find out and enter the print server's queue name (also called port name) in Printer Setup, not just the IP address.

BTW the blank pages and unusual code it printer before are from a non-postscript printer trying to print postscript -- Is it still doing that?

my print server is a d-link dp-301u wired server in which i have my epson cx8400 inkjet connected via a usb cable. the server is connected to my d-link wireless router via an ethernet cable.

i go to add a printer in leopard, i click the + and it lists my printer port ( PS-EF22B8-U1 ) under the default printer tab and says the kind is bonjour. if i click that it asks me what driver to use. i select the latest cup+gutenprint driver 5.14. if i send any text to the printer it will cycle every piece of paper in the printer through the printer, but not print any text. same thing happens if i set up the printer under ip. i choose ip and select lpd and enter the ip address of the server, then the port name, then choose the same driver. same results!
if i select ipp under the ip tab it won't send anything to the printer.

i'm stumped.
