i just got my macbook yesterday , i set it up and everything, the computer recognizes my belkin wireless router, but when i go on the internet its pretty slow, does any one know why this might be, do i need a better router, is there settings i can go into on my mac to make sure the router is set up right on my computer?

Try plugging it in via Ethernet, if it's fast over Ethernet, let us know.

The next thing to check is to make sure that you are actually connecting to your OWN wireless network. Seems silly, but I've been accidentally connected to my neighbor's network before, without noticing.

Finally, what model of Belkin is it?
