Anyone using a trackball they can recommend? I'd prefer one with the ball in the middle of the mouse since I don't want to stress out my thumb too much.

Sorry, it's not one with the middle ball, but I have totally happy with my Sanwa trackballs (I have both the wired and wireless models).

They are credible replacements for my discontinued and beloved Logitech TrackMan MarbleBall devices.

Note that your thumb is actually the strongest digit on your hand. If your thumb can't take it, use a mouse.

Sanwa is not a recognized brand name in the USA but they have been around for 50+ years.

I've just seen a few complaints from people reviewing thumb trackballs saying it really stresses that part of the hand, so I figured one with a middle oriented ball would be better.

Will look into the Sanwa.

Look, you're still basically using one digit. It is entirely possible that those people have some sort of medical condition that has decreased thumb agility.

Observe your own usage and choose accordingly. This is not something that the community here can answer. You must figure this out yourself.

Well I know little to nothing about trackballs, so even basic recommendations are very helpful. The last topic on the subject seems to be from 2015, and a lot of the ones I've looked at (like the popular Kensington models) have conflicting info on whether or not they play nice with Catalina. Seems most trackball enthusiasts use PCs so that makes things a bit tougher. More info is always better, and that's really all I'm looking for, though I suppose if I buy from Amazon it's a very easy return process if something isn't compatible.
