Wireless video to tv

I'm sure this is a stupid question for you guys but I know this is the place to ask.

If I have an iPad2 can I send the video wirelessly to a tv anyway. Apple tv, AirPlay (not sure what that's all about) etc.....

Yes with apple tv 2. Using AirPlay. As long as you're on the same wifi network with home sharing enabled on all devices. You can also view videos that are on you're pcs iTunes on you're iPad. On stream directly from iTunes to apple tv 2
