Wirless backup HD besides Time Capsule??

I have a new MacBook Pro, and need a backup hard drive and don't want to spend the money on Time Capsule. I want it to be a wireless external HD, can I do this? Any good brands? Could I still use Time Machine?

Well if you get an Airport Extreme, it has a USB port where you can plug in your external and do everything wirelessly. I'm not sure if there is a less expensive option though, such as another brand that has a USB port and isn't so expensive, although you can get an Airport Extreme off eBay for about $100 or less.
