I have added (well let's say quite a lot) album from Apple Music since I joined. Don't download any on my iMac desktop and only a fraction to my iPhone 12 - basically when we are traveling via plane.
On my iPhone the "albums" that have been upgraded are indicated when I tap on the Album either in Album view or Artist view. And I assume that the upgraded version (either Atmos or Lossless) are played accordingly. (Yes, I have AirPod Pros for the Atmos music and I have Lossless turned On in settings - though I doubt could really hear the difference in either AirPods or with CarPlay.)
However, in the Music App on my iMac there is no indication in the artist view in my library if that particular album was upgraded - unless I play a song and see the indicated in the now playing bar at the top of the music app unless I change the view - click on the ellipse symbol and select "show in library". If I start in the Album view (which I rarely ever use), clicking on an album will then open the same view as "show in library".
To me this should be updated as it is a shame to have to go through various steps to see what has been upgraded in the library.
