I collect Oakley Time Bomb & Time Bomb II watches. Four TB's & the TBII in my collection are Titanium. One TB is Black plated Stainless Steel. The black plated SS model is less expensive and much heavier than the Titanium.
Time Bomb came out as an automatic watch (no battery) in 1999 for $1,450 (Titanium) and as I recall, $999 for the heavier Stainless Steel case & band. Many color dial options were offered.
Time Bomb II came out in 2009 for $2,750 (Swiss made, automatic, mechanical, Titanium case & band, Sapphire Crystal front & back; 2 color choices) and is in current production for $3,000+ in the Elite Collection: http://en-jp.oakley.com/elite/timebombii
I definitely intend to preorder an Apple Watch or perhaps two
. I just wish Titanium case was an option! It is very strong, and extremely lightweight. It is so much more comfortable to wear than the equal sized Stainless Steel model. Here is how I would have offered them:
Sport: Aluminum
Apple Watch: Stainless Steel
Apple Watch Edition: Titanium or 18K Gold
Or, ditch the aluminum; make Sport in SS, Apple Watch in Titanium & Edition in Gold.
