I often switch between Helvetica and Monaco, because I'll be writing a document that has code in it, but it's rather annoying to be typing, and then have to mouse up, click font change, type for a bit, then change back, and repeat (I know, firstworldproblems).

Is there a way to set up a hotkey that switches between two fonts for example, or something that simply allows quick font switching?

I only have Pages 08 but there at least you can create character styles and then assign a hot key to them (one of the F keys).

To access styles, go to View > Styles Drawer. You can create a character style (not paragraph style) for each of your fonts and assign a hot key to them.
