Ok so currently I have been waiting for a working firmware where I can actually browse on the internet without the POS touch exiting the internet by itself because it can't handle it. And if you try to listen to music while browsing the internet that is just a death wish and it usually freezes or just shuts down the browser. I can't even check the weather while listening to music its ridiculous.

So if I pay the $10 for the update will I finally get my dream, a working iPod touch????

Never had my iPod do either of those so it might be an issue with your iPod on the firmware...

I have restored it from the start twice hoping it would fix this problem

my firmware is 1.1.4

looks like I better contact apple support then :(

I thought this was just a common problem

how in the world do I email support. Apple is really bad I can't even find somewhere where I can email about a hardware problem.

Really?
i can browse listen to music and check email i can probably do everything all at once. Its not the software its the hard ware you have problems with call apple
1-800-my apple

There really is no option for what I'm looking for and the only one "connectivity" that lets me type only lets me type 250 characters

apple really fails i guess i'll just select that 1 and type like a cave man

It's not a hardware problem. I can confirm that I get a spinning beacball when I plug my 1.1.4 iPod touch into the computer. However, I am able to fix the problem by removing my iTunes Library database. It has something to do with the new version of iTunes (7.7) I just got 2.0 installed on my iPod touch, and I will try and connect it when I get home and see if that solves the problem.

Do you have apple care?
I once had to send in my macbook pro and it was gone for a total of 2 days and shipping was most definitely on them.

UPDATE: I have installed 2.0 and iTunes no longer hangs when I plug my iPod touch in. It's up and working instantly!

My Safari crashes all the time as well. Especially on large pages. Have you also had any other issues? Mine has had the album art mix up, the music app quit, settings quit, videos quit, the entire thing freeze and need to be restarted, and it even showed the iPhone iPod app instead of music (I could play videos from within the music app)

Most of those issues were fixed with a restore, but I have had music crash once, and Safari crashes all the time.

I was wrong... the reason why it doesn't stall is because I don't have any music on my iPod right now... as soon as I load it up with all my tunes... it stalls again.
