with update 2.2 i can drive to america from australia! sweet!

so i was playing around with 2.2 and when i searched directions to a supermarket,, it happened to be the same name as an american state..
take a look:

what! i cant take the bus! dam.... looks like i cant walk there either...

but sadly when i go to take this trip, which should only take 55 days and 20 hours, iphone crashes... sigh... i guess i will never know how to drive to america...

looks like 2.2 is not ready for the masses....
 
The driving directions where remove by Homeland Security, sorry.
 
You took a wrong turn in Jacksonville, FL. You went straight when you should have turned right. That mistake cost you about 157 hours driving time. :(
 
I just did it on mine too, did the same thing pretty much same route.

16,224.2 miles, 56 days, 5 hours from Sydney to Times Square.

So funny.
 
One thing I've learned to appreciate over the past 8 years while living in Hong Kong is good OZ humour and witty aussies.

You mean you needed the iPhone to drive to America from Australia? I'm surprised you didn't download the information from your mothership hovering near Mars.

Heh, I had the same thing happen to me on the regular google maps the other day. I was trying to see how far it was from newtown (in sydney's inner west) to greystanes (a bit further out west). However, I forgot to put "NSW Australia" on the end, so it assumed Newtown in Connecticut. The directions involved crossing the US to seattle followed by this:
Code: 
39.	Turn left at Kalakaua Ave 1.9 mi
40.	Kayak across the Pacific Ocean
Entering Japan  3,879 mi
41.	Continue straight	 0.3 mi
a bunch of directions through the streets of Japan, and finally
Code: 
102.	Turn left  0.6 mi
103.	Kayak across the Pacific Ocean
Entering Australia (Northern Territory)  3,358 mi
104.	Turn right at Myilly Tce
and a final trip across Australia to Sydney.

Well, now I know how to get from Newtown to greystanes (in 149 steps = 16,282 mi – about 56 days 7 hours). I always thought it was just down the M4...

That's quite amusing. Kind of like the old Google maps directions that told you to swim across the Atlantic Ocean to go from the US to the UK or something.
 
I found the problem.
Apparently, you accidentally selected both the drive and the "swim" features at the top. :D
