Just thinking about Vision Pro 3d video recording on the Pro - it is currently landscape only because of the camera positions. But...what if the 5x camera was moved up, to be in line with the main camera? That would theoretically enable portrait mode video/photos, zoomed at 5x (The 5x camera would become the "main" camera, and the zoomed main camera would just be used as depth data.

Maybe it'd be a bit too confusing of a UI as you would have a VP icon when in horizontal, and in vertical if you tapped it you would be instantly zoomed 5x.

But going along the same lines - I think we'll probably see "square" camera layouts on the iPhone soon, especially if the pro's move to 4 cameras. That would potentially enable 3d video recording in all modes/orientations depending on what cameras are used.

I’m not sure - shooting in landscape for spatial video seems intuitive. There are rumours that the regular iPhones will revert to the iPhone 11/12 camera setup so perhaps the base models can shoot spatial videos?

That makes sense for the base iPhones...I imagine there will eventually be a way to view spatial video on device, maybe using eye tracking (via the faceID camera) to adjust the perspective.

The reason we shoot video in landscape is because our TV's, monitors, computers are all landscape and can never really be changed. Most mobile video is now portrait. But on the Vision Pro - it really doesn't matter the aspect ratio, as the virtual display can adapt to any ratio.
