i d/l WMP9 and installed it and it works as a stand alone program but when i go to cnn.com and try to watch a video there, the pop-up says i dont have WMP and gives a Plug-in Warning. any ideas on how to fix this? i think it has to do with a setting in safari or something...

What do you mean that you "d/l WMP9 and installed it"? Microsoft no longer supports Windows Media Player 9 on the Macintosh. It recommends the Flip4Mac QuickTime plug-in and provides a link to it from the Microsoft website. You did not say which version of MacOS X you are using or which model Mac you have. If you need the Intel version of Flip4Mac, it is still in beta. The beta is closed, but many users have it and like it. If you prefer, you can get the PopWire WMV-9 Component QuickTime codec. The release version is UB.
