wmv file to mov

i am trying to convert a wmv file to a mov file so i can use it in final cut express have downloaded video converter and have tried but it only dose five present if the conversion and then states complete. but when i try to run it quick time says it is not a move file and there for can not run.

how can i fix this problem?

or buy VisualHub -- alternatively, you can use iSquint to convert it to .mp4 (ipod/itunes), and try that.

Flip4Mac will let you use WMV directly without transcoding, however you need at least the Player Pro version for editing. It's pretty cheap to buy though.

Does this mean that video converter will not do the job?

Which video converter? VisualHub/iSquint will work, but there will be an extra step required and you will lose a bit of quality.

i vidio converter i have is called Mac Video Converter or http://www.soft29.com/ and that is the url. i also tried isquint but it gave me another error occurred. is there any why that the program i downloaded will work.
