Is it possible to get WMV thumbnail previews to show up in Mavericks when looking at a folder in Finder, like they do for .mov/.mp4?

Apparently not. I don't know the exact reason, just that it's something about third-party QuickTime components no longer working in Finder.

WMV is only used by porn sites. Stop using this format, it's stupid and older than my grandma. This is not trolling, this is actually a good advice.

QuickTime Player X now supports converting foreign files into formats it understands in Mavericks. Unfortunately, this change also means that Quick Look and other previews no longer function for such files.
