The woman is being held in a mental health unit following another incident, whether she has a mental problem or it's another case of police overreaction I don't know:

Either way I don't think she's really enjoying her stay in NZ!

As to the topic of 'Wolf Whistles' I think it's pretty sad actually that guys feel they have to resort to that kind of behavior.

One guy in my wider circle of Uni friends did this kind of thing (he didn't whistle, but made fairly aggressive come ons ...implies the same IMO). When we were at a bar he tried to pick up this girl and proceeded to get shot-down in a most embarrassing way, but he just laughed it off (really making him look like quite the ---hole). Later I found out that he used these aggressive tactics to protect his ego; because in his mind the girl didn't reject him, she was just mad at what he said. Sad but true.

How did you find that out? Did he tell you?
Well he didn't just tell me; at another more private party he got a little too drunk, and when confronted about pulling such stunts we got the whole 'it's just what I said' argument. However the confronter would have none of that argument and after more prodding eventually the guy broke down into a meek confession about his fear of rejection.
