$8.00 in dc... probably cheaper everywhere else...

a medium, unpretentious, easy drinking shiraz for someone that just wants to sit around and surf macrumors before going out to a holiday party...

oh... and it's probably good with light meat dish...

anyone else have any reccomendations?

(mods... it's not the drunk thread... maybe we can keep this to wine only? no... i didn't search...)

:D

i enjoy a lot of new world wind...

Australian, or South American....All ecxellent stuff......

My fave place to get wine from without dumb opinions is Odbins.....

Must be one of our "export only" wines. I've never ever heard of it here. Kinda like Fosters, terrible, horrible disgusting beer that we export to the rest of the world and you guys lap it up (I have never seen Fosters in a pub anywhere here).

If you can get a hold of some Penfolds Kalimna Shiraz or some of d'Arenberg's reds you'll be onto some of the good stuff from down here. I don't know what sort of price they'd pull over there but they're medium range here so it may be a bit pricey for what you're after.

Loves me red wines, love 'em.

As a wine rep I should probably chime in here and recommend Zema Estate (Coonawarra) as my favourite medium-range Shiraz at about AU$13 LUC (AU$20 in a shop).
