I have Mac studio m2 Ultra and a macbook Pro M2 Max. both were struggling since Sequoia with AI. I kept wondering what's going on. Even reinstalled a fresh OS. same issues on both machines. Then I tried turning of AI. BOOOOM! All issues fixed.

Some issues I faced:
1. Sluggish finder
2. Sluggish Safari
3. Sometime links wont click on Safari
4. Random slow downs on Safari when loading web pages. It would stop out of the blue
5. Sluggish typing and mouse experience at random moments.
6. Absolutely sluggish editing experience in FCP

Hope it helps. I think AI is doing more behind the scenes than we are led to believe.

Also just on a personal note. Apple Intelligence is absolutely useless for me. Not one feature I have missed since disabling it. A week ago, the mail notification summary notified me that one of my clients needs a full refund. When he was just talking about a refund from someone else. WTF Apple? I choose to live without this "Anxiety Intelligence"

I disabled intelligence and some of it still works. Like Clean Up in Photos is still working even though I disabled it.

I don’t have an M series Mac but I’m curious to see if anyone else is experiencing this. I know on my phone for sure I get better battery life with it all off.

I see nothing that way. AI is not integrated with Safari with 15.3. Now private or normal mode? Utilizing recently M1 iMac, updated to M4 Pro MBP, also M1Max MBP. Connectivity from ISP or your home LAN setup.

Nice to hear everyone’s thoughts. I tried turning it off on my iPhone 16 PM. Boy does it make a difference in UI speed and battery life.

I do edits all day and the way Lightroom and FCP were performing were making me question the hardware itself.

I think AI was released in a rush and sure we will see it go far, just not now. At least for me.

That's interesting. I see no difference with it on or off on my M3 Pro.

This is as good as it gets unfortunately. It consumes vast amounts of compute and energy.

The benefits vs costs do not make sense.

hello all here!

starting this week i'm using M1 MBA and mini with Monterey again
which has bugs silly ones like gnats on a sunny day after a long cold winter.

i was not impressed with Sequoia beta in August
though the OS was fast, that tab new window finder returned and nice UIG.

i'm on the fence upgrading but worried about AI...AI
so i visited the  AI page.....
all that is 3 things, silly ones as a major is being designed for children only:

#2: Delightful images created just for you.

Create images to express yourself, craft Genmoji for conversations, or revisit favorite moments with your own memory movies.

If anyone can tell me that is a not a main feature ummm i would be happy-er.

the bottom line i wont be able to type in Pages if that changes the mood of the novel,
there has to be a turn off disabling the #1 AI feature.

thanks for reading!
