iPad mini Won't go past home screen

Ok so my iPad's battery died twice today.So I tried to restart it.But all the iPad will do is show the apple logo and then show the home screen for 1/10th of a second and then die right away.Tried a DFU restore nothing doing.I once had this problem with an iPhone 3GS.Didnt bother fixing it because there were a lot of other problems.Anyone know a fix for this problem?
