2018 MBP 15" running 10.14.6
iPhone running 13.1.3

Cannot connect my iPhone to my MBP any more since updating to latest (almost) softwares. Just comes up with the statement "A software update is required to connect to your iPhone"

Is this Apple forcing us to update to Catalina? That's terrible. As far as I can learn from here and other forums, Catalina is still not a good option, still almost a Beta version and thousands of people have had nightmare scenarios after updating.

Isa there any way In c an connect my iPhone without this update???

Did you do the software update? That's not asking you to install Catalina. I had to do an update too and everything is working fine.

No, I'm not talking about that.

When I plugged my iPhone running 13.1.3 into my Mac running 10.14.6, I was told by iTunes that it needed a software update.

This isn't the Catalina update.

I did that update and everything is working great.

It did not update me to Catalina.

I have resolved this issue by a quick chat to Apple (Love it!).
The update was for the iPhone from the Mac. It would seem that even though I have only just updated the phone, the 10.14.6 0n the MBVP has an update for the phone when first connected.
Job done!
