Now that I've been able to fix the loginwindow (Not Responding) problem, on to the next one.

My Mac Pro will not sleep by itself, it sleeps perfectly when told to though. This has been a problem for a few months now.

I have had an Elgato EyeTV Hybrid connected to the computer, though sleep was working ok with it before. Though it is not connected at the moment. The helper application has been removed from the login items.

I installed three extra hard drives and a DVD-RW, but the computer used to sleep fine with them so I don't think they are the problem.

At the time the computers supposed to sleep the screen blanks but nothing else happens, the machine keeps running.

I also know about the problem of setting the sleep time to 1 minute, it's set to 15 minutes at the moment.

Here's what I've tried:-

1) Only connect the essentials: power cord, DVI connection to screen. With bluetooth mouse and keyboard (Apple).

2) Waited after a restart so no extra programs were running.

3) I've repaired permissions both with the the OS and install disks (couldn't hurt to try).

4) Removed everything from the startup folder and login items, and created a new user account.

5) Reset the SMC and PRAM.

6) Trashed the com.apple.PowerManagement.plist file

7) Checked the logs. Unless I'm looking in the wrong place there is no mention of anything happening at the time the computer is supposed to go to sleep. Whereas there are a few lines generated when I put the computer to sleep manually.
