wont stay shutdown

I have a MacPro 5,1 running OS10.6.8. One of the things I do with this Mac is record live TV with an HDHomerun and EyeTV 3.5.2. Since I am usually in bed by the time the recordings are done I have the shut down scheduled every day at 11:15 in the Energy Saver pref. This worked fine until a couple weeks ago when I would notice the Mac still on in the morning. What is happening is the Mac is shutting down then immediately restarting. If I manually shut down the computer it stays off. Why the difference if the shut down is scheduled versus manual?
