Can anyone recommend a nice wood case for iPhone 5 that provides great protection against drops and other accidents? Something as close to the protection of the Otterbox commuter as possible. Price range from $150-$250.

Thanks :)

I love my Twig Case. I've had a bunch of poly/plastic cases and this is the first case I don't have the desire to remove. It's technically made of paper, but feels more like wood, and some of the versions feature Bamboo. Twig is FSC certified and made in the US.

There is also another brand called Grove. With both brands you can get different types of designs

A thread on both:

Another vote for Twig. It's light, strong, and unusual. I got this case in brown:

I've heard Grove cases have gotten better, but I've read previous problems with their Iphone 4 cases. What initially convinced me to go with Twig was a video that showed someone throwing an iphone in a Twig case against a wall. Case and phone were fine. Really like my Twig case.

200 bucks for a case?! Why not get applecare+ and if you get a scratch just throw it at the ground and get a new phone...

Thanks, that's what I'm looking for.

It's a gift.
