hi guys, here's an update on my broken HD problem (my 60GB HD crashed and I did NOT back the data up... aaargh...).

I got a new HD from apple as a replacement for my broken 60GB toshiba and I did not send the broken one to drivesavers as I originally inteded to do... I bought prosoft data rescue X put the HD in an external firewire enclosure and recovered about 75% of my stuff, but that's o.k. (did not listen to most of those damned mp3s annyway :( :( :( )

the hd got so hot, I had to put ice in a tupperbox and put it on the enclosure (hehe, move over you PC-geeks, here comes active cooling...)

but anyway, thank you guys (AlphaTech, jermsmingy, morlium...), my tiBook is up and running again...

...drivesavers would probably been able to recover more data than the software but I think I rather spend the money on a digigram vx440 and an airport extreme basestation (hhmmm, usb-printer sharing)...

thanks guys:) :) :)
