I'm trying to get my page numbers right in a lengthy page document. My footnotes cannot be continuous, so with each chapter, I have put in a section break to get them to reset. Somewhere along the way, Word has decided the document starts on page 48 and that each section starts on page 48, so Chapter 1 starts on 48, Chapter 2 starts on page 48 (instead of page 9), etc...

How do I teach Word to count correctly again? I have tried copying and pasting the document into a NEW document, but the same page number problem carries over.

Thanks.
