MS Word is adding an extra line between paragraphs in a double spaced paper. How did I get rid of it?

I think it is just a bug that Microsoft was too lazy to fix. I used Office 2004 for Mac for the longest time but finally just switched to iWork '09 because of all the bugs.

If I open it in Word 07 can I fix it? I can't hand the paper in this way...

I've just been hitting enter as I would normally do, it was going along normally and all of a sudden I the cursor started going down an extra line and I couldn't get it to go back. That's the best I can explain it.

But what is really important is if I go to school, open it on a pc there in word 2007 will I be able to correct the error?

It depends if it is an error. If you turn on the formatting symbols and see a symbol like a backwards P on its own, then its because you are using the enter key incorrectly.

The one in the middle shouldn't be there.
