Word 2008 - Notebook Layout View Problem

My Microsoft Office 2008 applications have had no problems since I got them, but for the past few weeks (I didn't change anything on my computer that may have caused this) whenever I try going to the Notebook Layout View of MS Word, the program closes on me. I keep reporting the problem, but of course that doesn't help anything. Has this happened to anyone else? Do you know what could have caused the problem? The rest of MS Word works beautifully.
