In my discipline there is a special character that is used composed of two symbols, one superimposed over the other: a number and the carat sign. The result is a number with a carat sign just above it (there is no overlap between the two characters). I have searched the help file in Word 2008 and haven't found any mention of superimposed characters or carat signs placed above numbers. Does anyone know if what I need to do is even possible in this program?

Thanks in advance for whatever help you can provide
