Word 2008 weird problem

When I type something (i.e my name) then press enter to go to the line beneath, the cursor goes down two lines instead of one. When I type normal sentences and a new line is reached the cursor goes down one line like normal but when i hit enter it jumps down 2. Have I messed my settings up or something?

In the menu bar, look under Format > Paragraph, then see what it says under Spacing. Sounds like you might have the Spacing After set to 12 pt or something similar.

Edit: Sorry, that's for older version - try to find the paragraph formating equivalent in the ribbon, or whatever 2008 has.
