word 2011 default background

I have problems with my eyes if I stare at a white page for too long. Previously I have changed the default background.
With my new mac/word 2011 I can change individual documents in layout but can't find out how to set a default.
Can anyone help?

I know it is not exactly what you are looking for but have you tried inverting the screen? ctrl+alt+cmd+8 ?

Thanks, that is a quick way of getting rid of all that white. Will be useful but would still prefer a default colour background if anyone knows how.
