Up until two weeks ago, Office 2004 worked fine for me (I know that I ran PowerPoint after the 10.5.3 update).
This week, Word freezes on the blue info box while opening up. When I go to Force Quit, it says that it is "not responding".
PowerPoint does the same thing, but it gets past the opening orange box. I can see the toolbar, but then it freezes, and I have to force quit.
Note that Excel is working fine through all of this.
I try updating to the latest version of Office (11.4.2, I guess I had 11.4.1). Same thing.
So I uninstall, and re-install using the CD. I download ALL EIGHT updates, and start the update process, one at a time. They are still freezing. I completely re-installed again, same problem.
I don't know what else to try... any ideas? I really hate the idea of giving Microsoft more money (for 2008) simply because their old version stopped working.
