I'm using the new 2008 English (USA) version of Word in Office 2008 to open a WORD document that contains Arabic & English text. It appears to open fine, but I've been told by the sender of the file that the Arabic text is not correct. He's sent me a PDF file of the same doc, and it IS different than what appears using my WORD application. Is my software doing some sort of conversion to the file, and if it is...how can I modify it so the Arabic text reads the way it was intended to to be. It appears to be the same font, but the characters are slightly juxtaposed and different. Please help! Thanks.

I'm not sure that MS Word for Mac handles RTL languages correctly. I think you need a Middle Eastern package.

For Hebrew with English, Mellel is superb to handle both LTR and RTL languages even in the same line. You check the Mellel forums because there some who use Arabic on the list.
