My company has just switched to Macs and for reporting we are suing Word for Mac (It is killing us!). I have spent all today working on a decent sized file and have had no issues savings as I went and opening it when it crashed (Which is far too often). I came home tonight to find the message "the document name or path is not valid".

I tried searching the dialogue box, changing the extension (For some reason I was in Word 2004 doc format where all of my previous files were in docx). I have tried recovering through pasting links and did have success recovering the test but not the formatting or charts which make up the majority of the report.

Has anyone come across this before and found a solution? I cranked out 50 pages today and have a Friday deadline. If I have to redo all of my work then I just simply won't hit that deadline. Completely desperate!

Thanks in advance!
