I am using Word 2011 on Mac, and am having some issues applying a custom style. I applied the style to numerous portions of text in a document, and the style appears to have created a table for those portions, with a single cell and borders in addition to formatting the text. About halfway through the document it stopped applying the custom formatting except for the text. If I click on the ones that appear to be tables, the table layout tab appears on the ribbon. It doesn't for the other parts - just a paragraph style is applied. When I reveal formatting, both have the exact same attributes applied. Even format painter will not apply the entire style. I'm stumped:confused:

The best I could figure out was to select the non-conforming portions and convert them to tables and then manually apply the style.
