Does anyone know of a god Wrks contact app in the App Store tat will sync to the cloud but not to my iPhone phone book as I want to keep them both separate

You can login to icloud.com and make contact groups. At your phone open telephone app - contacts and on top left select groups and choose which groups you want to appear on your phone
