So work is buying me a new macbook pro to go along with my new job with them.
I am curious if the 7200 rpm makes much of a battery difference. If it does is the performance gain worth the drop in time?

I know this is a bad time to buy a laptop but I might be able to hold them off a bit. I can't wait until xmas for the new versions though.

Thanks everyone.

ps. They are also getting me a 3g iphone hah.
Apparently I am their new main mac guy.

The new versions won't be Christmas time, but nonetheless…

The 7200RPM drive consumes the same power as the 5400RPM drive and it's faster.

And the iPhone 3G, who's paying for service?

work pays full phone bill.

Thank you for the info about the 7200 rpm drive. I will be dropping 50 gigs for the speed increase.
Thanks

Can you tell us what newspaper company? I really only want to know if it's the NY Times or not. However seeing you live in Ontario, I find that unlikely.
