Our work wifii seems to be successfully blocking any new iPhone or ipad, or even macbook pro yahoo and gmail emails. Does anyone know how this is possible or if there is a way around it? Internet works fine, it is just the email that is blocked.

Yeah, thats the only way around it, but I was hoping there was someway to get it to work like it should. I just like getting the instant notifications when I receive an email. I just don't understand how they have blocked it or if there was some work around besides using a web browser. It worked fine when I had my iphone 4 with the latest update.

Stick to using cellular as much as you can.

I wouldn't trust any company who goes to the effort of closing ports to not be actively monitoring everything else you do.
