iPad Pro Working external HD works with the latest iPad Pro 12”?

Hello I just picked up a iPad Pro 12 and I would like to invest in a external HD mostly to save pictures and videos I took off of my IPhone 11pro and GoPro camera. Any suggestions would be appropriated..... 1T is more than enough but if there is a deal on 2T then why not...

Avoid external HDD (very slow writing speed compared to on computer / laptop), use external SSD only. Any well known modern brand should do I think.

I want the 500GB T5 for my Mac Mini for Time Machine but they seem to be selling at a higher price than the T7 500GB... Makes me think I should've gotten the T5.

Or, it could just be lower supply for the T5?

Yeah, it's $37 more than when I bought it last December. It has a new model number - MU-PA500B/WW vs MU-PA500B/AM when I bought it - but I can't see any descriptive difference.
