Hello everyone ! I'm new here and new to Apple ! Just pulled the trigger in a RiMac (not here yet) to enhance my photo editing experience.

In my current Windows setup, I have a main 256gb SSD and a 2nd internal 500GB mechanical drive. Basically all my photo imports/editing and exporting back to jpeg happen on this 500GB drive.

On the Mac, this will have to be on an external drive, as I opted for the 500GB SSD internal drive. I'm looking at the Western Digital "My Book" 2TB drive, USB3" Will this setup work well, or am I in for a nasty surprise ? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

What do you use to edit your pictures? If you use LR5, you can keep a smart preview on your laptop and leave the raw in your external HD when you import.
