Working with background music in imovie 11

I need help please! I am putting together a video/still picture montage with background music. I will be using more than one song and when I switch from one song to another, I don't want any dead air. I would like to fade one song out while at the same timefade another song in. I can't seem to find a way to overlap the two songs so that will happen. Can anybody please help me? Thanks.

Drop your music onto video clips rather than onto the background. The tracks then appear under the clips on the Timeline, and you can then move one clip to overlap the other.
