Hi!
I have my Apple Watch series 6 for about a week now.
It's the first Apple Watch I own.
After the first week, and exploring the OS and the devie itself, I started using it for my daily workout.
I usually do outdoor walks, so I tested the watch yesterday.
After about 10 minutes of walk, I got the notification and I was asked if I wanted to register the activity detected as an outdoor walk
One nice touch was the fact that even getting the notification after 10 minutes of walk, the timer showed precisely that: around 10 minutes of walk, and afterwards, the map reflected precisely the whole walk.
The Watch even detected when I ended the workout and acted accordingly.
Today, I did exactly the same, but the detection did not worked.
Ho realibaly do your Apple watch detect your outdoor walks?
I assume if it was a run, it would esaily detect it, but aht's just me thinking out loud.
Would you share your experiences with me?
Thanks in advance

It may not have detected your second walk because your heart rate wasn’t high enough to trigger a workout detection.
According the the Apple Watch I was around 125 bpm, so it should have triggered the workout detection. That, added to speed and movement.

Hello I am having the same trouble with mine, when I use my polar app and device, my bpm goes up to 167 bpm doing a hard work out, with my Apple Watch 6 like 140?? The bpm are to low and wrong using it.

During today I could confirm that I’ve there without detection is working. Being my first Apple Watch ever, I was used to the a Galaxy Watch that identified the slightest walk as a workout.
rhe Apple Watch needs a consistent walk for about 10 minutes at a vigorous pace before triggering the workout detection notification. The same way, the workout terminated notification is triggered properly after a couple of minutes after being stopped.
