World Book won't update.

I'm having a problem with World Book not being able to update. Everytime I click on the "Update Now" link, World Book tries to connect and then it says something like:

Article downloading was not successful.
Make sure you are connected to the Internet and try again.

I have tried connecting to the Internet before opening World Book but it still won't update. I've also tried connecting after this message pops up, but still nothing.

Can anyone tell me what the problem is? This has been ongoing for a couple months now. And in case it is helpful, I have the green World Book version (2001, I think).

Does WB come with a lifetime subscription? If not, has it expired?

MacKiev's website says that the update server is currently down. Dunno when it'll be back up.

World Book Update Server is Down
The update server previously maintained by World Book, Inc. is now permanently offline. Software MacKiev is constructing a new server and we hope to have it up and running soon. Until then you will get an error when you try to connect. To be notified when the server is back online, please click here.
