World Cup scores on dynamic island and Lock Screen

This is one thing I miss from Android. With my pixel I can ask Google to automatically pin the scores of my favourite teams. So I don’t even. We’d to know when they play. As soon as the game starts scores appear on my screen.

FotMob lets you just set a team as a favourite and you always get notifications without doing anything else but i think to get the live activities thing on the lock screen you have to press the star in each game individually whenever you want them to appear. I've not seen a way of always setting it to do a live activity overall.
Fotmob beta via TestFlight has just been updated where you can set your team to display Live Activity for every game. You receive notification , press it to go into app & it adds Live Activity. You still have to accept the notification but the star icon carries over to the next game of that team.

FotMob doesn’t update live scores on the Lock Screen properly. So unreliable.
Never had a problem with Fotmob activities at all to be honest. Always updating & certainly with todays matches within seconds of the team scoring. An addition I’d like with Fotmob is to show the scorer & time of goal on the Live Activity. When you press the LA to go inside the app itself it shows both these. I am running beta & have fed this back to developers.
Even this is too much to be honest. Apple should add some way to automatically start Live Activities for all of a team's games without user intervention.
iOS does actually do this natively as well (at least if you're in the US). In the TV app go to sports, tap on one of the games and there'll be a button to "follow". I think it only shows close to when a game is going to start though.
I don’t care about soccer but I’m amazed all the big apps like ESPN still don’t support live activities, and if they haven’t by now I don’t think they ever will. Apple should require them to support it.
I agree. But Apple themselves don’t have a live score app with Apple News and tv? This should be a standard iOS feature for newer phones with dynamic island.
I mean I want it to automatically start the live scoring whenever my favorited teams play. Android has this for a couple of years now
Same for me. I gave up using it as seems pointless when you have to go into the app to get it to update
FotMob just been updated so you can choose to follow the World Cup as a whole and games are automatically added to the lock screen a short while before they kick off. Remember that for the next few days final group games kick off at the same time so they will stack.
Never been a problem for me. Was watching a game the other day and saw a goal go in then i went to the lock screen and FotMob updated within about 20 seconds. Pretty done this for me every time i've used it to have a live activity. Never had to go into the app at all to make it update.
Today I can’t get anything at all on lock screen or island. I’ve touched on the star but nothing appears.
I went in to check the scores and it prompted me in the app i could update the app to get automatic live activities for all world cup games. Updated the app, opened it and followed a link to activate this which was basically open a page that was the World Cup as a whole and pressed the star icon top right. After doing that i had both games on the lock screen and updating. They were both 1-0 at the time time and its since updated to show Holland 2-0 up without me doing anything.
